The team from the University of Michigan will share their experience developing My Learning Analytics (a.k.a. The unDashboard). The development of this tool was heavily influenced by experiences and research into the efficacy of previous student-facing dashboards. The effort was brutal in its focus in providing students actionable insights; many prototypes were unabashedly dismembered in the process. This is the first application to leverage Caliper event streams in the Unizin Data Platform (UDP) – a consortium effort to build a multi-institution learning analytics infrastructure. The application provides a transparent view of a students' standing in the course, reveals behavioral patterns associated with good learning skills, and guides decisions about possible actions students can take that may improve their academic outcomes.

Easy makes a weak body and mind. I judge my success based on the success of those that depend on me. I am a humble guy with a slight edge of non-conformity I just can't seem to shake. I question everything.
