APIs for HED (AKA: EduAPI)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Edu-API is a proposed new set of specifications that will allow for the standardized exchange of data between the transactional systems that manage education administration and teaching and learning, allowing for the provisioning of systems with enterprise data and potentially extending into large scale data interchange with learning records stores, etc.  While the definition of the specification, and so the corresponding API, is important, IMS will provide substantial support to make it easy to adopt these APIs.

During this session, the IMS Chief Architect will give an overview of the technology framework that will be used for the definition of this set of APIs. This includes the provision of OpenAPI-based descriptions, the use of the IMS Security Framework and the corresponding set off conformance and certification test systems. A key objective for this technology approach is to make it as easy as possible for a system to consume the services made available by these HED APIs.
