In this session, we will discuss the potential benefits of awarding badges and micro-credentialing to educators who are using data effectively to positively impact student outcomes. By being able to capture professional learning hours applied to understanding factors impacting the whole child such as Social Emotional Learning, PBIS, MTSS, students with disabilities and accommodations, english language learners and more, combined with data usage in the classroom to maximize student learning, the objective is to drive a bottoms up data-driven culture. The gamification of time spent understanding data and analyzing impact is expected to drive increase usage and adoption of the analytics. As a result of being built on OpenBadges standard, these badges and digital credentials can move with the person as they shift schools or districts, thus providing visibility into their experience of using data to enhance student performance.
