Digital tools can transform teaching and learning. During the vetting process, instructional leaders examine these tools for curricular alignment, student impact, and achievement results. Now, along with these criteria, the modern school system must also consider how digital resources will interact with others in their digital ecosystem. It is now the responsibility of instruction and information technology to ensure ecosystem harmony. The role of the modern IT department is to assist instructional staff in understanding the purpose and importance of interoperability.
