Most institutions are collecting more data than ever for purposes of improving student and institutional outcomes; however, most struggle with collecting the right data and connecting it in order to harness the kinds of insights that will lead to meaningful improvement. During this session, we’ll hear from one institution who is breaking down traditional data silos and using data to both monitor quality and make timely, actionable decisions to improve teaching and learning. The University of Denver has taken an integrated approach by leveraging an integration between its course evaluation and faculty activity data sets, extending the life cycle of its data. This proves valuable in gaining a more holistic picture of course and program effectiveness, faculty workload, approaches to teaching and learning, and service across the institution for purposes of evaluation and continuous quality improvement. During this presentation, the institution will share its processes and how it has increased capabilities to use data across these processes in order to make evidenced-based decisions.
