What happens when you take competing priorities, changing state and federal legislation, and increasing institutional compliance requirements, and try to incorporate them into an innovative teaching and learning product? How do you find the right balance with data privacy, security, user trust, and corporate data? While many edtech companies have embraced student data privacy and are making great efforts to comply with various regulations and requirements, it is increasingly difficult to keep up. The goal of this session is to bring together state departments of education and edtech providers to discuss the impacts of legislation and whether a single standard for data privacy could be adopted by the states.
